GM T800 Capacity Overflow (Power
Seat Adjuster Assembly)
Tube Technologies tooled up GM T800 interim
process to meet our customers' mass
production overflow; a process involving
assembly that would normally have
taken 3 to 4 months was tooled up
in 3 weeks through;
1) Reorganizing current work cells
to utilize existing equipment.
2) Utilizing internal tooling resources
on a 24/7 basis.
3) Redesigning and engineering the
product to accommodate the interim
process without jeopardizing or compromising
product,
quality or function.
4) Establishing a personnel work group
for demonstration and training purposes
and successfully merging our Operator
Group with the Process Engineering
Group. The result was a highly
trained and self sustained work group.
This process ran successfully for
7 months with zero customer concerns.
